Five extraordinary garden venues for your wedding ceremony
A green oasis located just southwest of downtown St. Louis, the 79-acre Missouri Botanical Garden is world-renowned for its beautiful and lush landscapes. A St. Louis jewel for more than 150 years, the Garden offers a variety of spectacular locations reserved for unforgettable wedding ceremonies. (The Garden also features additional venues for wedding receptions, Bayer Event Center and Spink Pavilion.)
Japanese Garden
Described as a “garden of pure, clear harmony and peace,” this serene 14-acre space is the Missouri Botanical Garden’s largest and most popular ceremony site. Recite your vows overlooking one of the most photographed locations in the Garden: a stunning 4 1⁄2-acre lake and historic Japanese footbridge.
Lehmann Rose Garden
Located in the heart of the Garden, this beautiful expanse of roses is the perfect setting for a breath-taking processional and ceremony. Winding walkways lead through a field of fragrant flowers to a grand gazebo and elegant fountain that will serve as the backdrop for your wedding.
Gladney Rose Garden
Choose this location for its beautiful arbors covered with climbing hybrid roses. This Garden is recognized by its charming white picket fence and exquisite Chihuly sculptures. The Gladney Rose Garden is located in front of the Linnean House near the east entrance to the Garden.
Boxwood Gazebo
This charming site is a favorite choice for small, intimate ceremonies. A quaint gazebo overlooks formal boxwood and perennial borders, and whimsical “leaping water” fountains send streams of water arching over the garden paths.
Chinese Garden
A showplace of extraordinary craftsmanship, this authentic “scholar’s garden” sets a memorable scene for your small wedding ceremony. A hand-carved white marble bridge crosses a burbling stream, leading to a traditional Chinese pavilion.
