La Verona at the Marketplace

Called La Verona, which means The Truth in Italian, this location conjures images of Romeo & Juliet.

La Verona at the Marketplace is located in the Hill neighborhood. Originally built over 100 years ago, The Marketplace on the Hill has had a varied history. In the past, it has housed a lumber company, a tools manufacturer and even a maker of battery locomotives for the mining industry! Its architecture, as well as the surrounding atmosphere, lends its hands to the combination of warm, old-world charm and urban feel you get for an industrial event space at La Verona.

The high-beamed ceilings, rustic brick and graceful architecture hold all of the beauty and charm of Italy, right here in St. Louis. Whether it be a wedding, corporate event or fundraiser, your venue matters just as much as the event—impress your guests, and schedule your next event at La Verona.

We know that when you plan a wedding, you research dozens of possible venues. Some are too stuffy, some are too big and some just aren’t you. If you want a venue that evokes romance in a space that’s part old-world charm and part urban-chic, La Verona may be just what you’re looking for.

Our new space, poetically named La Verona, is located in The Hill neighborhood. The Hill is home to a large Italian-American population—and a large number of locally renowned Italian restaurants, bakeries, markets and bocce gardens. Originally built over 100 years ago, La Verona has had a varied history. In the past, it has housed a lumber company, a tools manufacturer and even a maker of battery locomotives for the mining industry! Today, it has been remodeled to give you and your guests the space you need and the chic atmosphere you want.

While an open, industrial venue, La Verona shares some similarities with its sister location, Oliva on the Hill. Both spaces are inspired by the beauty and charm of Italy and feature high-beamed ceilings, rustic brick and graceful architectural details. The new location, however, also gives guests spacious rooms with clean lines and an outdoor area charmingly lit with string lights. It features large windows, specialty lighting, an end-cut wood block floor and a warehouse loft space.

La Verona is raw enough for brides to add their own touches if they choose, but it’s beautiful on its own as well. Host a lavish seated dinner or allow your guests to casually mingle—this industrial chic wedding location lends itself to intimate moments and lively celebrations alike. Events at La Verona give you a completely cosmopolitan experience in a convenient urban location.

If you’re looking for a venue that’s charming and historic, yet spacious enough for a large group, visit our newest location at The Marketplace on the Hill: La Verona.
